G-frame Structures has been awarded the contract to install an innovative hybrid CLT and Steel superstructure for Loughborough University’s major new student accommodation.

1Designed by David Cox Architects, the new six storey building will provide 102 student apartments along with a coffee shop, launderette and large communal area at ground floor. Internally, the majority of CLT walls will be left exposed making the material integral to the look and feel of the building.

The G-frame Structures team has worked closely with the design team through the early design stages and will install approximately 1500m3 of CLT and 40 tonnes of steel in a tight 15 week programme which will see 30 material deliveries to site.
