Great news to see Blaker Island shortlisted at the Structural Timber Awards. The G-frame team installed this extremely challenging CLT project on a tiny, operational lock keeper’s island on London’s Stratford Back Rivers. The scheme by Roberts & Treguer, comprises a five storey apartment block and two semi-detached houses built either side of the refurbished original lock keeper’s house. Building with CLT has helped the new homes meet O.6 ACH (air change), the maximum allowed to achieve Passivhaus standard. CLT has been left exposed throughout the seven spacious new homes, all of which enjoy views of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
