Teach Spruis

An architect’s family home

Teach Spruis (Spruce House) is a two and a half storey terrace house built on an extremely tight site in Central Dublin. The family home is designed to achieve Passive House standards and is one of the first residential buildings in Ireland to use Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) for the entire superstructure. Living space on the small footprint is maximized space with ground the floor arranged around a double-height central space at the front and kitchen/dining room to the rear. Three bedrooms and a mezzanine study are on three upper half-floors which are stepped around a central stairs and additional half-storey runs. Three outdoor spaces including an upper terrace frame views and act as outdoor rooms.
